This is my new salad bar poster. Wanted the image to be cool and healthy at the same time. Hmm trying telling that to kids ha ha. I thought my new font fitted in pretty well with the image. I think if the images were real photography it would clash.
This was my first font that I design. It was a little childlike and sloppy so I decided to do something a little more accurate as far as shapes go. The above font is pretty close to the bubble font I would put on assignments in high school.
Well I hope you get the message here. The font I used is "Dream Scar" and I think it is pretty relevant to the message - holes and spikes people. The only thing I have added to this is in the "H" I added a bar to look like a belly button piercing. I chose a grey gradient on the font to give it a metallic look.
I tried to use the standard colours for a pizza shop. I think this is good if you want something to be easily recognizable. I put a shadow behind the font as I wanted it to almost jump out at you and I have put an image of a slice of pizza in the background. The font I used is "Brush Script medium", it has that fast food look to it. I have put the words at a slight slant to give it some movement - make it look quick.
This was an interesting one - calling a night club "The Bank". I decided to go with an angry piggy bank. A money box with attitude. I used the bright blue as I thought this would look great in neon lights and also the image printed on black t-shirts. The font I used is "GradoGradooNF" - I think it is a more 50's art deco style, which I think gives it a cool image.
I had lots of fun doing this. I wanted the logo to look like it was drawn by a child. And the colours I used was for this same reason. The font again, I wanted to look hand written. It is "Brown bear funk" - most appropriate don't you think? I did have trouble originally with the position of the name, but after a few changes of position and getting a second opinion (thanks Amanda), I found a great spot for it.
I experimented with this one. I first of all wanted to use the lens as the 'o' in "Studio", but it looked out of proportion so I put the red word on the black traced camera. The reason why I used these colours was I was thinking of dark rooms with the red light and the camera being almost a negative. The 891 has been given a texture as I thought it just looked a bit too bland to be red also. I didn't want people to mix up the name with perhaps a model number on the camera.
The font I used is "Rock it". It has given a rustic look like an old brick wall. I wanted to continue this rustic look by using the theatre masks (which look a bit spooky using the brush stroke that I used).
Would appreciate some feedback on this one. I am not sure it works as a logo but I think it would look cool on a shop front. I wanted to give the image a look of flying. The font I chose "El&font Block" because it gave a street graffiti look.
I thought about using an image of a piano and thought that it was a little too obvious. So I decided to go for a hand written manuscript look. The colours I used in this design is to give it an authentic old paper style and the font I used "Viner Hand - ITC", was to continue that hand written look.
Not sure if I like this one. I tried to have the symbol of nuclear technology (which I researched on the net) and integrated with with a mountain representing the PINNACLE. I kept this very simple as I thought this could be on uniforms as well as signage. The font I used is "Eras - ITC - Bold".
With this design I wanted to have the golf image as well as the elephant. I thought of the logos that you see on golf balls so that is why I have the elephant head on the ball. The font is called "Elephant, regular" - most suitable don't you think. I chose a colour that is similar to elephant skin.
I quite like how this turned out. I wanted it to look professional so I kept the detail minimal and the colours black and white. I am proud of my tooth - it took some time to draw it but I got there. The font I used for the name was "Perpetua Titling" as I thought it was quite conservative and the "Dental Surgery" is in Myriad Pro. This is was so the main focus was on the dental surgeon's name.
Kids love balloons. And balloons mean party, party, party. So I keep the colours very bright and fun looking. The font I used is "Fontdinerdotcom Sparkly". I thought it was fun especially with the little sparkles added. I used a hot pink again as it is a bright colour and it looked great on the bright blue background.
For some reason I really DO NOT like designing logos for gyms. So I found this difficult to make. The font I used was "28 days later". I liked the rough and rugged appearance it had. I wanted the name to look HARD as we all know how hard you have to work out there. I chose blue as the main colour as I felt it went well with grey and it is a clean colour. You could also match gym equipment with this colour. I left the word GYM as a serious font "Bank Gothic". (As you can tell my idea of a gym is 'serious hard work', no fun ha ha). I used a chalk and charcoal effect on the "E" again to make that HARD feel come across.
The first thing that came to mind was a crystal ball or some kind of orb. I have given this a gradient from the middle to the outside of the circle to give it a warm spooky glow. The swish is transparent and a gradient added - again to give it a spooky and ghostly look. The font I have used is "Star struck" - it appears to be a mystical type of font. I used the colour purple for the font, as from memory I think I have seen a lot of these types of ads using purple. Maybe it is a spiritual colour???
I decided to keep this relatively plain. After studying the NUMEROUS trucks I pass or drive behind on my trips to and from Temora, most of the trucking companies are not too elaborate in their logos. I have however noticed that on most trucks there are little pieces of filigree throughout the vehicle. I have kept the colours plain and used colours that would not show up the dirt as much (which is something to consider when they spend so much time on the road.). The font is 'Bookman Old Style - Bold Italic". I put a black board around the font and filled it green. Although this is a simple design - I think it works.
When I think of magicians I think of stars and lights. So I have put some coloured stars around the word to make it look almost like fireworks or an explosion. The font I used was 'Bordeaux Roman Bold' as I wanted it to look conservative and adult because it was an equipment shop for magicians. I gave the font a gradient and outer glow to illuminate it. When I look at this I think "TA DAAA".
