Design_d 08 poster

I found inspiration for this hard as I was in a rut with designing.  So to get some ideas I decided to collect items in my office/study and photograph them to make up the various letters of DESIGNED-08.  It has a bit of an old 70's school book I like.  It was also fun trying to experiment with photography.

Stationery Group 3

This is my favorite group out of the three designs of stationery.  It is functional and minimal.  I think if there was more orange it would take over the space where the body of the text should go.  I also like how there are small spots at the bottoms separating the address details.  The font used is Optima.

2. Three part study in Type Assignment

This is the second font I designed.  I like the texture in this and I think if I re-drew this in pen it would have a better look.  I decided not to go with it as I wanted to design something a little more challenging and I had a font in mind that I used to use on my letters during high school.
(Not in order as I had a few problems downloading).

4. Poster with teardrop Curl Font

This is my new salad bar poster.  Wanted the image to be cool and healthy at the same time.  Hmm trying telling that to kids ha ha.  I thought my new font fitted in pretty well with the image.  I think if the images were real photography it would clash.

1. Three part study in Type Assignment

This is my final font.  Although it was a bit fiddly to design in illustrator I think it has worked out quite well.  I wanted to use san serif with a bit of filagree - it is a bit cartoonist.

3. Three part study in Type Assignment

This was my first font that I design.  It was a little childlike and sloppy so I decided to do something a little more accurate as far as shapes go.  The above font is pretty close to the bubble font I would put on assignments in high school.
